Ike,

Good points (and thanks for reading). The point that I did not make, but should have, is that the cream always rises to the top. The next generation of the work force who have grasped both the meaning, utility and potential of social media along with those who are smart and motivated -- will be entry level and then management in 10 or 15 years.

So I will BRB with my next :-) while I LMAO. FML.

Mark, I disagree somewhat.

Yes, texting and mutiltasking seem rather alien and mysterious -- and there is something to be said for what it does for workflow.

But a rare few of them will come out with the instant understanding required of a manager. Management is still about understanding how to motivate human beings, and how to get them to do their best. Being able to text "<em>Attaboy <3 ur wrk ethic</em>" with dexterity and alacrity is no substitute.

Now, those who learn how to leverage their natural networks to improve their knowledge and understanding will have marketable skills indeed -- but now we're talking about savants, natural networkers have always had an advantage.
